Year 1: 26,000 KW green energy produced helping to offset our carbon footprint.
Averaging over 6 jobs a day and breaking the 10,000 man hour threshold November was busy, with work across the board the crews were busy not only in their own cities Cardiff, Bristol, Bournemouth and Plymouth but outlying areas as well.
New for us this year our Bristol Crew were involved in building the pop up Spiegeltent Venue on the docks which creates another wonderful space for fine food, Christmas Tales and Parties, alongside music and cabaret over the next few months. Adding to the diverse amount of venues Bristol is able to offer. For more information go to www.christmasspiegeltent.co.uk.
Training was back on full time covering some onsite training at client’s premises along with some refreshers courses at our training centre in Plymouth in plant and manual handling.
The big news for us was the productivity of our 30KW Solar Panel investment, 25th November 2016 saw the one year reached in producing green energy, a big part of the overall picture of becoming carbon neutral by 2020.
The magic figure generated in year one was just under 26,000 KW which offsets just over 13 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide Emissions equivalent to 32,000 crew travel miles, we aim to double this capacity by the end of 2020, alongside updating or converting our fleet of vehicles we aim to be able to offset 70,000 crew travel miles by 2020 by solar panels alone.
Finally great news for the crew being shortlisted for the “Best Crewing Company” in the Festival Suppliers Awards for 2017, second time in a row now, good luck to all shortlisted looking forward to catching up at the awards.
