200 Jobs 10,000 hours found Rock City back at our home venues and local established clients whilst finishing off the last of the outdoor events. Creamfields saw a record breaking load out again helped immensely by the weather, SW4 and Reading went to schedule.
New for 2017 saw Rock City chosen as the preferred supplier of Barrier, Fencing and Crew to the BBC run of shows in Hyde Park, BBC Proms (cap 40,000) Radio 2 Live (cap 48,000) managed by Festival Republic.
Rock City was chosen for our experience and past history working at Hyde Park, we priced within budget and had a proven track record to keep to a schedule working within tight deadlines along with our flexible approach on our wet and dry hire packages. All of this backed up by a sustainability pledge to offset all our carbon emissions on Transport and Travel including use of site vehicles on the Build & Break gave Festival Republic exactly what they were looking for.
Working with our suppliers we sourced all of the equipment requirements specified by Festival Republic, we managed all deliveries & collections using 34 artic trucks from the closest depots around Hyde Park minimising our carbon emissions in line with Festival Republics’ sustainability programme and their commitment to Festival Vision and their 2025 pledge.
Rock City supplied several teams working over 24 hours to install, maintain and manage the infrastructure around Hyde Park in line with the Parks criteria keeping as much of the Park and surrounding areas accessible for as long as possible, basically creating a 5km traffic exclusion zone as an outer perimeter over the two day event opening and closing for egress, artist and suppliers.
