Anniversary for Creamfields & GDSF

August work continued with another steady 20,000 hours worked, and 290 jobs completed.

Crews were still out on the Festivals- Creamfields, Boardmasters, Greenman and Port Elliot.

New for 2018 saw our site crew at The Great Dorset Steam Fair (site 600 acres) for their 50th anniversary year, held on August Bank Holiday with over 200,000 visitors. Great weather insured a large turnout with over 500 full size steam engines on display, breaking the current Guinness Book of World Records for most steam engines in one place. The five day event was a great success and good to be back working with Far and Beyond Events who managed the site, accreditation and Health & Safety.

Client insight – Creamfields 18

Creamfields is a music festival featuring DJs and live acts. The first Creamfields was held in 1998 in Winchester attracting 25,000 people. Currently held in Daresbury, it attracts 70,000 festival goers each day. Celebrating its 20th year, the festival is run by the famed Liverpool club night and returns to capture the full breadth of commercial-leaning dance music, from 90s trance to modern EDM Giants. This year saw the introduction of two new stages, The Generator and The Silo, both adding a unique experience to festival goers and artists alike, with 4 days of adrenaline pumping dance.

Rock City started working with Creamfields back in 2003 at Speke Airfield. 2006 saw the move to Daresbury, Alice in Wonderland territory, where it remains a sell-out 70,000 dance extravaganza!

Not so much Alice in Wonderland any more, with an estimated £7.5M invested into the local economy by Creamfields……..it’s a big deal!

Site build stats: 65 artic trucks worth of kit, 20km festoon, 30km heras, 8km pedestrian barrier, 1km met barrier, 200 signage structures, 60 ton of scaff installed, 20 crew, 5000 hours.
